Every note here lives in one of four numbered sections. The system is called PARA (from Tiago Forte), the numbers are Johnny-Decimal style, and the combination means every note has exactly one home and a stable address.
The four sections
- 1 Projects · things I’m actively working on that still have a finish line. Right now that’s review drafts. When a draft is done it graduates to Areas.
- 2 Areas · the ongoing stuff with no end date. This is where the reviews live, because reviewing isn’t a project I’ll ever finish. It’s just a thing I do.
- 3 Resources · reference material. The Core Concepts I lean on when scoring, the Graph, this note, the About page.
- 4 Archive · cold storage. Finished, inactive or superseded notes end up here. Currently empty, which I’m choosing to read as a good sign.
The numbers
The digits stack: 2 is Areas, 2.1 is Reviews inside Areas, 2.1.1 is Movie Reviews inside that, and 2.1.1.1 is the first movie review. It looks bureaucratic for a garden this size, and it is, but it means links never break, the sidebar always sorts itself and future-me never has to wonder where something goes.
New here? Start with a review. Project Hail Mary is a good first one, then follow any concept link it reaches for. That chain is the site.
